These filters are a Finest-Filters compatible to the original brand, which have now been discontinued by Fluval.
The Fluval part number was A273. These pads fit the biolife filters, which are installed with the Tropiquarium range of fish tanks.
The sponges contain the biological cultures, for purifying your water, whilst also mechanically filtering the water by removing particulate waste.
